Tallahassee Builders Association Remodeler's Council's 3rd Annual
Remodeler's Showcase Awards

Every Remodeler is a Builder, but not every Builder is a Remodeler.

Although Remodeling contractors have the same state certified license to engage in the construction business as their new home counterparts, in many ways, that’s where the comparison ends. And recognizing this basic difference was one of the reasons behind the creation of the Remodeler's Showcase Awards.

The Parade of Homes is the premier event when a new home builder can showcase his best work. Remodeling, by the very nature of the work itself, inherently, does not lend itself to the time constraints of having the work done, completed, ready and available for the public to walk into and visit over the course of two weekends.

A Remodeling contractor is almost exclusively engaged by the Owner, to do specific work on a portion of a home, when the client wants the work done, using the colors and styles the client chooses while the client chooses the scope of work. And it would be a rare and unusual client, who would invite the public to walk through their home, for two weekends, after a remodeling project is completed.

The Remodeler's Showcase Award allows professional remodeling contractors to showcase their best work in words and pictures. Eligibility of participants is for professional Remodeler’s, who by that definition, are members of the Remodeler's Council of TBA. The judging of the entries, like the Parade of Homes, is conducted by professionals in the construction industry, chosen from those outside the immediate vicinity to minimize, if not eliminate, the bias which might occur with local judges.
