Types of Membership Minimize
Primary Memberships: Builders and Associates. Each company must designate one contact person, that person is the Primary Member.

Builder Memberships are available to any person who is licensed in the business of building or remodeling homes, apartments, schools, commercial, industrial, or other structures normally related and pertinent to a community, or in land development, and who subscribes to the NAHB Code of Ethics and is of good character and business reputation.
 
Associate Memberships are available to any person engaged in a trade, industry or profession related to Housing and not inconsistent with the objectives of NAHB or any of it’s affiliates; and who subscribes to the NAHB Code of Ethics and is of good character and business reputation.
 
Affiliate Memberships: Affiliates memberships are available to employees of companies with at least one Primary Membership.
Affiliate Memberships are available to any employee of a company that has a primary membership (Builder or Associate membership). Affiliate Members may join TBA at the rate of $125.00 per membership.
 
 
Tallahassee Builders Association is an affiliate of both the National Association of Home Builders and the Florida Home Builders Association. When you join with Tallahassee Builder Association, you are automatically enrolled as a member with both the National Association of Home Builders and the Florida Home Builders Association.
 
All prospective members must be approved by the membership committee before becoming members of the Tallahassee Builders Association. All members are subject to follow the construction, bylaws, and Code of Ethics of the Tallahassee Builders Association, the Florida Home Builders Association and the National Home Builders Association.

What is the cost of membership to TBA
Membership is $525 and is an annual membership. With this membership you receive membership to the National Association of Home Builders, and the Florida Home Builders Association. As part of this network, you have access to a wide range of information, resources, activities and services that can help contribute to the success of your business.

Is the cost of membership different if I’m not a builder?
Membership costs $525 for all Primary members: builders, developers, remodelers and associate members. TBA has instituted a new membership category in 2007 known as an Affiliate membership; this is any person who is an employee of a company that already has a Primary member in TBA. The cost of an Affiliate membership is $125 per year.

Do we have statistics on building permits within Leon or surrounding counties?

How do I obtain a contractor’s license?
You can apply for a license online at www.myfloridalicense.com.

What is needed to get the most out of my membership?
There are many ways to get involved in TBA! Council and Committee participation is one way. Within the TBA we have a number of Councils and Committees that have been formed over the years in order to focus in on some of the major areas of the industry. These special interest groups are a great way to become more involved and proactive in the organization and in the community in general.

Marketing and Sponsorship opportunities are another way. There are numerous opportunities available for our members to market their products and services to the industry and the general public. Member companies quite often do business with other TBA members. Businesses can also gain more exposure by advertising in our publication, TBA Today.

Lastly, come to our events! There is no better way to meet people and network than at our many events. Stay up-to-date with our events by checking in to this website weekly and by reading our monthly publication, TBA Today.

As a member of TBA, there are so many ways to network with over 550 builder and associate members, from serving on councils or special events committees to attending the monthly General Membership Meetings. You can also further your professional growth by earning a Professional Designation through NAHB, which offer excellent opportunities to improve your skills and advance your career.

 

Perhaps you would benefit most by taking advantage of the insurance benefits offered through Florida Home Builders Insurance (FHBI). FHBI is an affiliate company of the Florida Home Builders Association and offers a wide array of insurance policies available only to members.
